A clear, reliable schedule is one of the best ways to support staff and keep the studio running smoothly.

Manager Responsibilities

1. Build work schedules around program needs, consent + fit

Staffing is based on program needs, consent and availability. Some team members will want to teach camp or want to work prep or front desk shifts and some will not. We have to create schedules that work for the studio and respect what people signed up for.

2. Publish schedules at least two weeks ahead

We publish staff schedules in Gusto at least two weeks in advance (including classes / camp) so everyone knows their expected hours and can plan accordingly. Once a schedule is published, treat it as a commitment—try to avoid changes unless something truly needs to shift.

3. Update schedules to be accurate

When people take time off, swap shifts, or are out sick - update the schedule in Gusto to be accurate.

Where Scheduling “Lives”

If it isn’t updated in Gusto, it doesn’t officially exist—meaning payroll and reporting can be wrong.
