Corner House Studio is an alignment-based organization. We don’t operate on a “everyone does everything” model. The best way to deliver a consistently joyful experience for kids and a joyful work experience for staff is to build clear roles that truly fit.
What “alignment-based” means
Role alignment is when these three things match up:
- Persons strengths: what they’re naturally good at and enjoy doing
- Business needs: what the studio needs to run smoothly and serve families well
- Desire & enthusiasm: what people actually want to be doing day-to-day
When those three align, work feels lighter, more joyful, and more successful—for the team and for the families we serve.
What this looks like in practice
Being alignment-based means:
- Team members have defined roles with clear responsibilities, expectations, and boundaries (ex. Art Teacher, Art Camp Teacher, FX Coordinator, Studio Manager, Studio Assistant).
- They will receive training and support to do the role well.
- Before being assigned additional roles or tasks they’ll be asked if they are aligned.
- Everyone will practice proactive communication: flagging needs early, asking for help, and escalating issues appropriately.
